Name: Rajesh Koothrappali, PhD. Occupation: Astrophysicist.Age: 26.
Rajesh Koothrappali is an Astrophysicist from India. He now lives in California.
Rajesh made People Magazine's "30 Under 30" to watch list for discovering a planetary object beyond the Kuiper Belt.
His social anxiety is suppressed only by alcohol. He rarely talks to women when not intoxicated.
Raj is a friend of Sheldon and Leonard's. He likes girls but is too shy to talk to them, except, as it turns out, when he is drinking. If he is sober, he is unable to speak when a girl is in the room. He sometimes talks to his parents back home in India over the Internet using a webcam.

Howard Wolowitz (Character) -Big Bang Theory

Name: Howard Wolowitz, M.Eng. Occupation: Engineer.Age: 27.
Howard Wolowitz is a 27 year old engineer. We would like to apologize to Howard Wolowitz, in previous editions of this article we stated Howard lives with his mother. We're happy to publish a correction, and say Howard's mother lives with him.
Howard is the only geek in the group who does not have a PhD, he would like to point out he does have a Master's degree, though who doesn't?
Howard is a multi-lingual speaker whose many tongues he uses to impress the ladies, sadly to little avail.
Howard Wolowitz lives with his mother, whom no one else sees, but everyone can hear from every corner of his house (and even in the yard) because she does all her speaking in the form of a very loud yell. Howard fancies himself as one who is knowledgeable about women, but he is actually quite nervous and ineffectual in their presence most of the time. He likes to hang out and play computer games and pursue other geeky pastimes with Sheldon, Leonard and Raj.

Name: Penny.Age: 22.Occupation: Waitress at The Cheesecake Factory. From: Omaha, Nebraska.
After splitting up with her boyfriend of four years, Kurt, she moved into the apartment across from Leonard & Sheldon. She is writing a screenplay about a girl from Lincoln, Nebraska, who moves to California to become an actress but instead ends up working as a waitress. Auto-biographical you say? Well, no! See, Penny is from Omaha.
What she lacks in academic intellect, she makes up for in good looks and common sense, frequently being the sane voice in the group.
Penny was embarrassed to learn that exciting details of her love life had been posted on the Internet, revealing she once had passionate kissing in a Subway (the sandwich shop!).
Penny is a 20-something waitress at the local The Cheesecake Factory. She recently moved across the hall from Leonard and Sheldon, replacing an overweight transvestite with a skin condition. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska on a farm, where she had an ambivalent relationship with her father who quite bluntly wanted a boy. Penny is characterized as someone with attachment issues and as temperamental. She becomes emotionally attached to men who only want her for a sexual relationship.

Sheldon Cooper (Character) -Big Bang Theory

Name: Dr. Sheldon Cooper MSc, PhD.Occupation: Theoretical physicist.From: Texas.IQ: 187.
Sheldon is the uber geek, he possesses a Master's degree and 2 PhDs, and conducts string theory research at Caltech. He shares an apartment with Leonard.
Unashamedly geeky, he has no qualms about speaking Klingon, he doesn't mind sharing details of his life that others might find embarrassing, such as a common activity being Klingon Boggle until the wee hours. He wears vintage t-shirts sporting superhero logos.
As a child prodigy, Sheldon was involved in numerous experiments as a child, such as his plan to provide free electricity for his town by building a nuclear reactor. A plan stopped only by government pen pushers claiming it's illegal to store yellow cake uranium in a garden shed! Sheldon started college at the age of 11, receiving his first PhD at 16.
While he might claim to be the perfect human specimen, Sheldon does have his faults - although he'd never admit it! He lacks empathy, is unable to discern sarcasm, doesn't like change, and has an inflated ego. He does not understand social norms, and makes little attempt to do so.
Sheldon Cooper has a nervous facial tic, when he is stressed.

He has a fraternal twin sister, Missy, who hostesses at Fuddrucker's.

He also mentioned that he has an older brother whose name is never mentioned.

He is from Texas.

His IQ is 187.

He considers Leslie Winkle, another scientist who works in the same university with the rest of the group, as his arch-rival.

Despite being constantly rude to people he finds less superior to him (which is just about everyone), he is often unaware of the fact his actions are off-putting, and, on several occasions, has shown that he follows a very polite protocol that he picked up from being raised in a highly religious family. These actions most times greatly surprise his friends. Also, if someone compares a situation to how a fictional character who is known for heroics (mostly characters from comic books and sci-fi movies/TV shows) would help out, he will offer his assistance, though somewhat begrudgingly. With this "Hero-Complex" mentioned, it should be noted that the most believable reason that Leonard, Howard, and Raj are his friends, despite his obnoxious behavior, is because he saved the trio's lives by removing a small bomb the three inadvertently created in Leonard and Sheldon's apartment.

Sheldon seems to not have worries over finances that most people have, not because he is exceedingly rich, but almost as if it does not concern him. He once lent money to Penny without even checking to see just how much she borrowed, and never even cared if or when it was paid back. Obviously he understands the concept of money, but it does not seem to be a priority.

Believes that the best number is 73.

Has OCD: He has to sit in "his spot" in his apartment; he has to figure out the acoustic "sweet spot" at the movie theater; he has to eat certain food on certain days from specific places; and wear specific clothes (including pajamas) on particular days or occasions. When he knocks on doors, he compulsively knocks three times, calls out the name of the person behind the door, and then repeats twice more.

He is Mysophobic ("germaphobic").

When he is sick, he is comforted by the song "Soft Kitty". He usually has Penny sing it to him.

Soft Kitty was written by Edith Newlin:

"Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, Little ball of fur. Happy Kitty, Sleepy Kitty, purr purr purr."

He is somewhat a megalomaniac, and usually assumes that if he can't find a solution to any given problem, then no one can.

Leonard Hofstadter (Character) -Big Bang Theory

Name: Leonard Leakey Hofstadter, PhD.Occupation: Experimental physicist.IQ: 173.
Leonard is an experimental physicist at Caltech. He shares an apartment with Sheldon Cooper.
While Leonard, along with the other geeks, is somewhat socially inept, Leonard would like to be better accepted outside of his geeky social group. Leonard is more well-adjusted than his companions, being more willing to try different things.
Leonard Leakey Hofstadter needed a place to stay when he started at the university, so he answered an ad and went through all of the hurdles to become Sheldon's roommate, even though he was warned at the time that Sheldon was crazy. For some reason, he didn't believe it, and chose to sign the Roommate Agreement and move into Sheldon's apartment. Leonard put a couch in the living room, so they could actually have guests, and brought in new friends (Howard and Raj), much to Sheldon's displeasure.
When a new girl, Penny, moved next door, Leonard wanted to meet her. She talked him into getting something back from her ex-boyfriend, and a relationship of sorts was formed between Penny and the men across the hall. Leonard always wanted to date Penny, and eventually his dream came true. Eventually, they broke up, and Penny dated a not-too-bright guy. After spending time with her new man and Leonard, she found out she can no longer handle being with a stupid guy, so perhaps the door is open for Leonard to get back together with her?
We shall see. Whatever happens there, Leonard always has his friends Sheldon, Howard and Raj to fall back on to hang out with.
Leonard suffers from myopia (nearsightedness) and allergies.
Leonard is from New Jersey.
